Losing Amber by Shane Morgan

There was a lot of excitement and surprises in this book. The story was about Amber being a lost and finding herself and getting over a tragic event. Of course, that wouldn’t happen peacefully. Let’s find out a little more!

While Amber was vacating with her friends, she overheard a murder. She was the only one in the vicinity when it took place. Although hidden, she needed to find a way to escape without being noticed. When she made her move to flee, she was spotted. Unfortunately, she still couldn’t visually identify the murders. She only recognized their voices.

Throughout the story, she was haunted by that day and another traumatic event that happened to her and her friends. She was constantly on edge, wondering if the criminals were going to find her. Unfortunately, she continued to have close encounters with them and it seemed as if the nightmare was never going to end.

Although she was plagued with this situation, there was a little light that shined in her life. She began falling for her brother's best friend, Will. He was sweet and easy to talk to. At one point, he was the only one she could really rely on. Their relationship was slow building--considering her situation it was understandable.

I enjoyed the friendship she shared with Julian and Bristol and even McKenzie--her best friend’s sister. The relationship between Amber and her brother was a work in progress and oftentimes, they bickered. But there was something deeper that they realized that needed to be repaired. It was worth working toward. Even with all the chaos surrounding them, there was genuine love between them, which gave their relationship a realistic feeling.

I was a little disappointed with the limited amount of romance in the story. It was sprinkled throughout the story. The issues she dealt with internally and externally was the focus, which gave an understanding about her feelings toward building a romantic relationship.

Overall, I enjoyed reading the book. I had doubts about a particular character and that’s what kept me on the edge of my seat. It held my interest and was a fast read.

If you love on the edge of your seat suspense with a splash of romance, this book is for you!
